Sharks in La Ventana, Baja California Sur ?

QUESTION:
Hi, my name is Daniel, live in Cancún and want to know if there are sharks in La Ventana, Baja California Sur.

I plan to go in early November to La Ventana to practice kitesurfing taking advantage of the seasonal winds.

ANSWER:
Although it is relatively easy to observe various kinds of sharks in that portion of Baja California Sur such as whale sharks, hammerhead sharks and great white sharks, they do not represent a dangerous hazard to water sports lovers.

Proof of this is the growing number of visitors who come each year to this beautiful bay to practice windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and sport fishing.

However we recommend you that when you be at La Ventana ask for more detailed information on the customs of the sharks.

Ask those who know: tourism companies that offer whale shark diving, and water sports fans who reside right there.
