Types of Organic Red Wine in Valle de Guadalupe

The best types of organic red wine in Valle de Guadalupe are produced in just one place: Doña Lupe Winery

Casa de Doña Lupe

This winery is located in Baja California's Wine Route, the wine growing region that lies northeast of Ensenada.

Doña Lupe Winery is the only organic winery in, or around Ensenada.

The organic wine of La Casa de Doña Lupe is so good because it is so "purely" produced in one of the world's best grape growing regions.

The grapes are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, or toxic pesticides. The wine is created without any added sulfites.

La Casa de Doña Lupe vintners only grow limited amounts of the grapes each year, placing an emphasis upon quality instead of quantity.

Take their 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the local region's biggest selling types of red wine.

With this wine you'll get the scent of cherries and berries.

The taste is like that of full-bodied and smooth black currant fruit, along with just the ghost of the taste of fresh mint and the subtle undercurrent of tannins.

This unique organic winery also sells a local favorite... a Zinfandel with 10% Grenache blended wine.

This delicious drink is aged in oak barrels for thirty-six months and then another six to twelve months after being bottled.

Taste this one and you'll get ripe berry aromas to go along with the berry and mildly acidic stone fruit flavors.

Mild tannins round out the great flavor, too. People love drinking this blend when they eat fresh or sun-dried tomato-based dishes, prime rib, carne asada, chicken fajitas, and related dishes.

Other great organic wines sold here are the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon-Grenache blend, the 2002 Tempranillo, the 2003 Honey Wine, a late harvest Grenache a la Port, and soon a 2004 Barbera, one of the best types of red wine with a 2004 Merlot, and a 2004 Syrah.

These organic wines are all sold for just $20 or less, so you can afford to live it up!
