Scuba Diving

Scuba diving is one of the most popular activities here. There are a sufficient amount of locations for which you can go scuba diving here, with varying levels of difficulty.

A place to dive can be found for all divers, from beginners to advanced, whereby they can explore the waters which surround the area.

During the summer months Orcas, Giant Pacific Mantas, and schools of 200 to 300 Manta Rays can very often be seen.

There are over seventeen types of living corals located between San Jose Del Cabo, Cabo Pulmo and Cabo San Lucas.

These three places, commonly known as Los Cabos, are a few kilometers from each other.

Scuba diving is available in Los Cabos all year round. In the summer season visibility can extend beyond 80’ with the water temperature being between 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

The water temperatures drop during the winter months. However it does bring with it a greater abundance of marine mammals.



Snorkeling

You can even put on your flippers and mask in San Jose and go off snorkeling around the coast.

It is possible to swim with the fish whilst you snorkel. Whilst swimming through the clear waters you can interact with each species, if it is safe to do so.

  • By air.
    Even though this place is located in the southernmost tip of Baja California Sur, between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortes, you can fly to San Jose del Cabo from Los Angeles, USA, and from Mexico City.
  • By car.
    Driving time from the USA-Mexico border is over 20 hours on Highway 1. Add up another 2 hours on Highway 19.
  • By Bus.
    The bus journey from Tijuana to La Paz to San Jose is about 30 hours. There is an international airport in Tijuana.
