Clamming
San Quintin is known for its endless supply of the giant Pismo clams and mussels.
Pismo clams, that can grow up to six inches, are the largest and the most yummiest among the Baja clams.
Due to the rich nutrients brought by ocean currents, and to the fertile volcanic soil around and under the bays, clams and oysters multiply by the millions.
That is why digging for oysters in the shallow waters of the bays is one of the main attractions here.
Playa Santa Maria is one of the most productive locations.
